[Update Aug 2016: This stall has ceased operation.]
Who says healthy food has to be bland? At least, I would give my thumbs up for the healthy tonic soups here. See the newspaper clippings pasted on the stall front. They had been rated by Channel U, Zao Bao, Wan Bao, Xin Min Ri Bao and even Makansutra. Certainly not just mere publicity stunts. This place does serve quality tonic soups that can be well enjoyed by all ages!
Salted Vegetable Duck Soup
Absolutely not oily at all! Lots of duck meat in the soup and a huge piece of salted vegetable that gave the soup a real salty kick. The soup must have been boiled for a long long time as it was very flavourful and you could taste the essence of the duck meat and vegetables all in the soup itself.
Old Cucumber Soup
This is my favourite. A must order whenever I come by this coffee soup. The cucumber was so tender, the flesh simply melted in your mouth. Generous portions of pork ribs too. And again, the soup wasn’t oily at all.
Best of all, the soups do not contain any MSG!
The wrapped herbal chicken is a strongly recommended dish too. I had tried it several times before and the herbs really tasted good (but not overpowering) so kids would love it too. Chicken meat was tender and juicy. Order a bowl of white rice and pour the herbal sauce soup over it. Simply divine! I shall go back soon and take some pictures of the chicken.
