One of my fave restaurants for lunch will be the Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe @ United Square, where we can just indulge in some no frills, casual dining joy. I always enjoy having my meals here because of the Chinese pop songs they always play in the background, on top of affordable ‘above average’ food of course.
French Toast
A deep fried thick toast coated with egg, served with butter and a generous drizzle of maple syrup is warm and slightly crispy on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. I am probably its BIGGEST fan ever. It’s so good, you can just have it on its own as a meal!
Papaya Beehoon Soup
My colleague ordered this and I took a sip of the soup which didn’t manage to turn me on. Do I need to elaborate further?
Chicken Chop
My all time favourite when I am sick of having rice or noodles. Can’t really find another chicken chop that is as juicy as this. Always done to perfection. No complains whenever I order this. Even the fries are good. The sunny side up is ALWAYS 100% cooked which is quite disappointing. Baked beans are just normal.
Ice Blended Lychee
Just mix a can of lychees with shaved ice and TA DA – you have this. Lol. I’m not trying to emphasize that this is just so NORMAL but I’ve always been a slush lover and this drink never fails to refresh me whenever I’m here so if you decide to give that carbonated drink a miss, go for lychee slush instead!
