While I love a good bratwurst in my English breakfast platter, I equally enjoy it in a pasta dish like this. You’d notice that I didn’t use any additional salt or seasoning in my recipe. The key is in Step 2 when pan-frying the sausage cos’ this is when oil and fat can be rendered from the sausage meat to infuse its flavour into the rest of the dish. Broccoli and Sausage Pasta Recipe
Ingredients (serves 2)
200g penne pasta, cooked according to packet instructions
250g broccoli, cut into florets, steamed or blanched
2 bratwurst sausages, skin removed & meat broken into pieces
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp dried chilli flakes
1 tsp olive oil
Instructions
1. Heat oil in pan and saute the garlic & chilli flakes till fragrant.
2. Add the sausage meat and pan-fry till golden brown.
3. Add in the penne and broccoli and toss thoroughly to combine.
