Chinese Style Roast Duck
Let’s roast some duck today, shall we? 😀 This Five Spice Roast Duck Recipe is really simple and convenient to make so long you have 5-spice powder and salt in your pantry. 😉 Yep, you just need these two ingredients to ‘marinate’ the duck (can use chicken too if you don’t like duck) before roasting it.
Fuss Free Cooking
Preparation is absolutely minimal too. Just rub the duck (keep skin on) with five spice powder and salt and pop that into the oven. In under half an hour, you’ll get this crispy-on-the-outside and moist/tender-on-the-inside roast duck ready for dinner.
You can either enjoy this roast duck on its own and serve it with your preferred sides or you can eat it like a Peking Duck wrap like what I did.
Home-style Roast Duck Wraps
This is my favourite brand of wraps that I normally buy from Mustafa Centre. There are many more other flavours to pick from besides this Spinach one. Haven’t seen this brand anywhere else besides Mustafa though. But of course, you can just use any egg/flour crepes or even tortilla wraps that you can easily get from any supermarket.
For two persons, I roasted half a duck and used 4 pieces of this wrap which I cut into 16 pieces in total.
Add some hoisin sauce, sliced cucumbers and spring onions. Roll it up and enjoy! 😀
- 16 pieces of wraps
- hoisin sauce
- 1/2 duck
- bunch of spring onions, sliced into 1″ sections
- 2 Japanese cucumbers, sliced into chunky strips
- 1 tsp five spice powder
- 1 tsp salt
