Pork Chops with Apples Recipe

This brand of China Apple soda was one of my favourite soft drinks during my childhood years. Granny loved it and we would always share one whenever we were out for a meal.

I had actually meant to use apple cider for this dish but I changed my mind and decided to pick up a can of this China apple soda instead when I was walking down the beverage aisle at the supermarket earlier. Thought I would use it for my own experimental cooking.

The pork chops turned out to be really similar to my previous attempt of using apple cider. Therefore I would recommend that you keep the good ciders for your drinking enjoyment and get these cheaper sodas for cooking instead.

For the apples, you can go for China Fuji apples as they’re crunchier so they wouldn’t end up looking soggy and horrible after cooking. And they add a really nice hint of natural sweetness and refreshing flavour to the whole dish too, which balance up that slightly bitter flavour of walnuts. Enjoy!
