I had a big box of yellow cornmeal left after making corn muffins a while back so I decided to use them to whip up some pancakes for breakfast. The first time I made these cornmeal pancakes, they tasted a little gritty. This time, I par-cooked the cornmeal by pouring hot boiling water over it […]
5 years ago, I tried the Nasi Bojari at Madam Kwan’s at Suria KLCC and I simply couldn’t forget its luscious plate of tri-coloured rice with their signature fried chicken leg, beef rendang and assam prawns. Though Madam Kwan is also available in Singapore now at Vivocity, it just doesn’t feel and taste the same. So […]
I used to be a die-hard fan of Lao Ban Soya Beancurd 老伴豆花 since an ex-colleague recommended it to me. Read my Lao Ban’s review here. I was so addicted to it, I would travel all the way to Old Airport Road Food Centre, queue for at least half hour just to buy a dozen […]
The husband and I visit the IKEA store at least once a month since we got our new house last year as it seems like there is always something for us to buy there. Either it’s kitchen equipment/gadget for me or some DIY stuff for him. And each time we are there, we’d sure dine […]
The second poem written by one of my old-time website readers, Amit. A very lovely and inspiring one. Enjoy. Amit, thanks for sharing once again. I would love to see more of your works coming through. Let’s continue to inspire, like what we used to do. Friendship by Amit Friendship is the kind of love […]

Dining at Swensen’s was such a treat then as the whole big group of us could share a mega Earthquake sundae that came in a spectacular smoky dry ice effect that never failed […]
I had received this poem contribution from an acquaintance who was a regular visitor of an old website of mine. That was like 8-9 years ago when I was self-learning HTML and trying to create a personal website for myself on Yahoo GeoCities. Amit often shared stories on friendship and life and started penning two […]
It was 8 o’clock in the evening and the husband and I were roaming everywhere in Raffles City, undecided on where to have our dinner till we chanced upon Buffet Town that was bustling with life (and noise) inside. A peep into the restaurant through the glass window, I saw piles of chilled crayfish, oysters […]
It looks exactly like our usual mashed potatoes but it’s definitely lighter than carbs-packed spuds. Texture wise, this mashed cauliflower has that same creamy consistency that just melts in the mouth. You can just season it like the way you normally do for mashed potatoes. I like mine with sour cream and mayonnaise. What about you? 🙂 Healthy Mashed Cauliflower […]
