A couple of days ago, I shared a Stir Fried Prawns with XO Sauce Recipe on which I also introduced and reviewed the brand new Seafood XO Sauce from Lee Kum Kee.
In the same CNY gift pack I received, there was also this Sauce for Honey Garlic Spare Ribs which I thought would be interesting to try.
And this was how the dish looked like. Normally I wouldn’t go for packet sauces as I prefer to make my own from scratch as I could better control the amount of oil and/or sodium in it. Though this sauce was heavily seasoned as expected, it was nonetheless tasty and moreish. Just need rice to go with the dish, otherwise would be too salty on its own. I couldn’t quite taste the honey or garlic flavour in the sauce but it was the same style like those Cantonese dishes with rich, thick and robust-tasting sauces that were similar to oyster sauce. Once a while, I wouldn’t mind getting this as it does help save some time cos’ it’s super easy and quick to whip up a meal with this. Enjoy!
