This Honey Chilli Chicken Recipe is really easy to make. Only three ingredients are required to marinate the chicken and once that is done, all we have to do is to pop the chicken into the oven.
I love the glaze on the chicken that is sweet and a tiny bit spicy. I also love the aroma of the garlic that really boosts the whole flavour. Chicken is also moist and tender as dark meat is used. If you don’t mind eating chicken skin then leave it intact so you can grill the skin to a lovely crisp. Enjoy!
Honey Chilli Chicken Recipe
Ingredients (serves 2)
2 deboned chicken legs approx. 600g
3 cloves garlic, peeled & finely chopped
1 tbsp honey
2 tbsp Thai sweet chilli sauce
chopped spring onions as garnish
Instructions
1. Marinate chicken with garlic, honey and chilli sauce. Chill in fridge for at least an hour.
2. Preheat oven to 180 deg C at Grill.
3. Line a baking tray with aluminium foil and lightly grease with cooking spray. Transfer the chicken (skin side up) onto the baking tray. Insert the tray into the highest shelf of the oven (closest to the heating element on top) and grill the chicken for about 20 minutes or till the skin turns slightly charred.
4. Garnish with spring onions and serve with your preferred sides.
Wow, that looks so tasty. I love honey chicken. π
Hello Chitra, thanks for dropping by! π Oh yes, we love this too. I like to use boneless chicken leg or thigh so the inside can remain juicy and moist. Give it a try and hope you enjoy!
This sounds good! We make a similar dish with chicken legs, but in a in a saute pan. Try adding a bit of soy sauce to balance the sweetness. We agree with you to use leg meat for it’s tender juiciness!

Cheers – I enjoy your blog! π
Yours looks good! I think it’s a good idea to saute the chicken in the pan so you can sear the skin and lock in the moisture. The outside of the chicken looks perfectly brown and lovely. I’m going to try your method the next time. Thanks for sharing! π
Thank you! If you do, we would love to hear your feedback! Happy Cooking!
In d recipe for honey Chilli No 3, u mentioned cooking spray. What is it? Flour?
It is cooking oil in a spray can. If you don’t have this, just use your regular cooking oil.
