Almost similar to the creamy alfredo sauce, this Garlic Herb Cheese Penne Recipe is one of our favourite pastas. Easy to make and perfect for cheese lovers like us. If you love creamy white sauces for pastas, then this is one recipe you should not miss out on.
Garlic-Herb Cheese Penne Recipe
Ingredients (serves 2)
250g penne, cooked till al dente, reserve cooking liquid
200g back bacon, remove fats & cut into small pieces
3 stalks leeks, sliced diagonally (separate stems from leaves)
150g garlic & herb light cream cream (I use Kraft Philadelphia)
1 tbsp unsalted butter
1/2 tbsp olive oil
freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
1. Heat butter and olive oil in pan. Stir fry leek stems and bacon till the stems are slightly soft. Add leek leaves.
2. Add cream cheese and 2 tablespoons of the reserved cooking liquid. Stir till well combined.
3. Toss in the pasta till thoroughly coated and add more cooking liquid if necessary to moisten the pasta. Season with pepper before serving.
You can substitute the penne with your favourite type of pasta and use another ‘hard’ vegetable like broccoli florets if you are not a big fan of leeks. This cheesy sauce is very versatile and goes well with almost anything. A very addictive meal 😉 Enjoy!
that looks SO tasty!
Thanks!
