Today, we’re making Feta Cheese Meatballs! Well, if you haven’t had feta cheese before, you should really give it a try because it can add so much depth to various different dishes.
What is Feta Cheese?
Feta cheese is a brined curd cheese that is made from sheep’s and/or goat’s milk. It is more firm, dry and crumbly as compared to other cheeses. Taste wise, it is also quite salty hence it’s often used as a topping to salads, pizzas and pastas.
I particularly like the flavour of Lemnos Feta Cheese (approx. S$6.35 per 180g block) which you can get from major supermarkets here in Singapore and I will always go for the reduced fat one. One block goes a long way. You can easily whip up a couple of different dishes with it. Throw them into your salads or crumble them over an omelette. Yum.
Feta Cheese Meatballs Recipe – No Added Salt!
Besides using feta cheese to add sharpness and flavour to my spaghetti, I also used it as a seasoning agent for my meatballs. That is why I’ve not added any extra salt in my recipe below because the feta cheese is really salty enough.
This Feta Cheese Meatballs with Spaghetti really packs a punch. Sure to tingle your taste buds. 😉
