Do Qoo 豆趣 @ Punggol Plaza

Do Qoo 豆趣 at Punggol Plaza has quickly become my go-to spot for delightful Taiwanese-inspired desserts when I’m in the northeastern part of our little red dot. This charming dessert kiosk, nestled in the middle of the first level just as you walk through the entrance, offers a refreshing respite from Singapore’s perpetual summer heat.

As a creation from the well-established Mr Bean brand, Do Qoo specialises in traditional Asian desserts with modern flair, focusing primarily on soy pudding, grass jelly and aiyu jelly concoctions. If you’re familiar with Black Ball or Nine Fresh, you’ll find Do Qoo’s offerings quite similar, but with their own unique twist.

Expanding Across Singapore

The Punggol Plaza outlet is just one of Do Qoo’s ten locations scattered across Singapore. You can also indulge in their delicious treats at:

  • PLQ Mall
  • Hougang 1
  • Kampung Admiralty
  • Canberra Plaza
  • Mapletree Business City
  • NUS U Town
  • NEX
  • Tampines Mall
  • IMM

For those curious about their complete offerings, their official menu showcases an impressive variety of both hot and cold desserts.

An Impressive Menu Range

Cold Delights to Hot Comforts

Do Qoo 豆趣 truly impresses with its wide-ranging menu. Beyond the expected cold desserts, they’ve ventured into comforting hot options including Peanut Soup with Rice Balls and Ginger Soup Beancurd—perfect for rainy days or when you’re feeling under the weather.

For those who love waffles, they even offer Belgian waffles in various flavours, demonstrating their knack for fusion desserts that appeal to diverse palates.

Customisation Kings

What makes Do Qoo particularly special is the freedom they give customers to craft their perfect dessert. You can select your preferred base—whether that’s grass jelly, aiyu jelly, or their signature soy pudding—and then pile on your favourite toppings. It’s dessert democracy at its finest!

For something a bit different, they also offer sweet corn cups, catering to those who prefer their treats less sweet but equally satisfying.

Our Tasting AdventureDo Qoo 豆趣 @ Punggol Plaza

During my recent visit to Do Qoo 豆趣 at Punggol Plaza, we decided to sample two offerings from their Signature series, plus a special Parents’ Day promotion item. Here’s my honest take on each:

Loving Youth (桃你欢心)

This combination features soy pudding as its base, topped with taro cubes, osmanthus jelly, peach gum, sliced red dates, and goji berries. The presentation made it look like a traditional Chinese tonic dessert—something your grandmother might prepare to “nourish your youth.”

The soy pudding was remarkably smooth, and I particularly enjoyed the osmanthus jelly’s firm texture, which provided a lovely contrast. The inclusion of red dates and goji berries gave it a subtle sweetness and that “wellness dessert” feeling.

My only slight disappointment was with the taro cubes. They were a bit denser than I prefer—I typically fancy a more springy, QQ texture in my taro. Still, this didn’t significantly detract from the overall experience.

Golden Beauty (桂气逼人)

This was unquestionably my favourite of the lot! The combination of grass jelly and soy pudding as bases created a perfect textural foundation. The toppings—lychee pop, osmanthus jelly, and taro cubes—added both visual appeal and textural intrigue.

The star performer was definitely the lychee pop. These little spheres burst in your mouth, releasing a refreshing lychee-flavoured liquid that complemented the other elements beautifully. The contrasting textures made each spoonful an adventure—sometimes soft and silky, other times bouncy and surprising.

Orh Nee You Series – Taro Paste, Red Bean & Taro Cubes (芋泥红豆)

This special Parents’ Day promotion item allowed us to select two bases, for which we chose soy pudding and grass jelly. The red beans were cooked to perfection—soft but still whole, retaining their shape and integrity. The taro paste was wonderfully fragrant.

An especially thoughtful touch was the soy cream provided on the side, which we could mix in according to our preference. This added another dimension to the dessert, allowing us to enjoy it in different ways—with or without the creamy element. And since it’s soy cream rather than dairy, those who are lactose intolerant can indulge without worry!

The Verdict on Do Qoo

Overall, Do Qoo at Punggol Plaza serves up desserts that are satisfying, refreshing, and reasonably priced. What impressed me most was the thoughtful balance of sweetness—even without requesting “less sweet,” everything was perfectly calibrated to let the natural flavours shine through.

My only consistent critique across all three desserts was the texture of the taro cubes. If they could achieve a more springy, QQ consistency, I believe their desserts would reach perfection.

Why You Should Give Do Qoo a Try

For health-conscious dessert lovers, Do Qoo provides the perfect middle ground—traditional Asian desserts that satisfy your sweet cravings without sending your blood sugar through the roof.

Do Qoo at Punggol Plaza operates as a takeaway kiosk, so you won’t be dining in. The convenient takeaway format makes it perfect for grabbing a cooling dessert while shopping at Punggol Plaza or for taking home to enjoy after a meal. Their sturdy packaging keeps everything intact, allowing you to savour these delicious treats at home or in a nearby park.

For the full experience, I recommend getting a few different items to share with your family. Their portions are generous enough to satisfy but not so large that you couldn’t sample a couple of different desserts in one go.
