I love coke! I love it when I was little and I still love it now though I haven’t had it for a long time due to diet restrictions. And it is just amazing how coke makes a great sauce for meats. I have cooked Coca Cola Pork Ribs before but I think chicken is still the best because the meat is so much more tender and it allows the flavour of the coke to penetrate through to give it a really robust, sweet and savoury flavour. Anyway, I was gifted one huge bottle of regular coke by the neighbour so just thought of using it in my cooking. This is a fool-proof Coca Cola Chicken Recipe, do give it a try! 🙂
Coca Cola Chicken Recipe
Ingredients (serves 2-3)
10 chicken drumlets
250ml regular coca cola
1/2 tbsp light soy sauce
1/2 tsp dark soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1/2 tbsp Chinese cooking wine
vegetable oil
Instructions
1. Marinate chicken with light & dark soy sauce, sesame oil and wine. Chill in fridge for at least an hour before cooking.
2. Heat a little oil in pan and brown the chicken drumlets.
3. Pour coke into pan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer till sauce reduces to a syrupy consistency.

It’s just so convenient to use Coca Cola as a marinade and it’s also a good way to use up any remaining coke that may have gone flat. Hope you like it, Swapna 🙂
