After enjoying a relaxing stay at Beitou Hot Spring Resort, we left the tranquil area and returned to the city, signalling the nearing end of our three-week trip to Taiwan. To conclude our journey, we checked in at Cho Hotel, a modern and stylish boutique hotel situated in the bustling Ximending district of Taipei. The hotel’s location is conveniently close to public transportation and many popular attractions in Taipei. The interior design of Cho Hotel combines industrial, vintage, and natural elements to create a cozy and welcoming ambiance.
In this blog post, I’ll be sharing my personal experience and providing a detailed review of Cho Hotel to help you decide if it’s the right accommodation for your Taipei trip. 😉
Cho Hotel’s Location and Nearby Attractions
Cho Hotel’s location in Wanhua District offers several advantages, including its proximity to a lively neighbourhood with numerous popular tourist attractions. The hotel is within a short walking distance from Lungshan Temple, one of Taipei’s oldest and most iconic temples. Additionally, guests can easily explore Huaxi Street Night Market, which is known for its delicious street food and souvenir shopping.
As for accessibility, Cho Hotel is conveniently situated near Ximen MRT Station and bus stops, providing easy access to other areas of Taipei. Other nearby attractions include Bopiliao Historical Block, Guangzhou Street Night Market, 2/28 Memorial Peace Park, Taipei Botanical Garden, Dihua Street, and National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall.
Hassle-Free Check-In and Creative Welcome Package
The staff at Cho Hotel were welcoming and provided excellent service during the check-in process. The key card was provided in a package that also included postcards, which guests can send to themselves or friends, and the hotel will mail them for free. Additionally, the package contained jigsaw puzzle pieces that guests can decorate and stick on the walls inside the elevator.
Accommodation
Unique Room Decor and Ambience
During our stay at Cho Hotel, we booked the Standard Double Room without a window, which was relatively small at approximately 14 square metres. However, the room was uniquely decorated with hand-drawn artwork on the wall and furnished in a stylish manner, giving it a distinct personality. The room had a cosy ambience with soft lighting and trendy decor, although the lack of space may be an issue for guests with larger suitcases as there is limited room to move around once the suitcases are opened.
Well-Equipped Room with Amenities
麻雀虽小, 五脏俱全. Despite its size, the room was well-equipped with a comfortable double bed, mini fridge, flat-screen TV with cable channels, writing desk, full-length mirror, and an en suite bathroom. Additionally, the hotel provided various amenities such as WiFi, free toiletries, slippers, a hairdryer, an electric kettle, wall and door hooks for hanging clothes, hangers, tissue paper, tea bags, and bottled water.
Modern and Convenient En Suite Bathroom
The bathroom in our room was modern and clean, featuring a rain shower and provided body wash and shampoo. One convenient aspect of the bathroom was the presence of a small shelf in the shower area and counter space next to the wash basin, allowing us to easily place our own toiletries.
Lounge Area and Free Amenities at Cho Hotel
One of the standout features of Cho Hotel is its impressive range of facilities and services. The communal lounge area on the second floor is spacious and well-appointed, making it a great place to relax, read, work, or watch a movie. In fact, we found ourselves spending most of our time in the lounge area, as it offered a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere.
One of the best things about the lounge area is that Cho Hotel provides a wide range of snacks, instant noodles, ice cream, and beverages to all its guests, completely free of charge. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the snacks and noodles, which were all from popular local brands. The ramen noodles were especially delicious. And the selection of beverages was excellent, with a variety of soft drinks, juices, water, coffee, tea, and more. The lounge even had microwavable popcorn, sliced bread, and a toaster, so we could make ourselves buttered toast anytime we felt hungry. We were truly impressed by the hotel’s hospitality and felt spoiled by all the free amenities.
In addition to the lounge, Cho Hotel also offers free laundry facilities, which was a big plus for us. Overall, Cho Hotel definitely impressed us greatly with the facilities and services it provided.
Conclusion
Overall, our stay at Cho Hotel was a fantastic experience. From the convenient location to the unique and stylish room, and the free snacks and beverages at the communal lounge, everything was perfect. The hotel’s free laundry facilities and friendly staff were also a big plus. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable and comfortable stay in Taipei. If you’re planning a trip to Taipei and want to stay in Wanhua District, check out Cho Hotel!
