A tiring shopping trip made us stop at Andersen’s to rest our feet and to sweeten our tummies.
Andersen’s Classic ($12.90) comes with 5 scoops of ice cream of your preferred flavours served in a crispy chocolate dipped waffle basket. We ordered rum and raisin, hazelnuts & chocolate, cookies and cream, strawberries & cream & macadamia nut.
As I was looking at a sign promoting its ‘crispy waffle’, I just had to order one to try. We ordered a waffle with 1 scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream ($11.50).
Perhaps I have a fussy taste for ice cream but Andersen’s type of ice cream didn’t really appeal to me. I thought it tasted sugary rather than creamy or milky like how Haagen Daz or Ben & Jerry’s are like. Also, the waffle wasn’t as crispy as it claims and it was a rather bland piece of cooked flour. Rather disappointing as it was an expensive indulgence that wasn’t worth the price tag. I don’t think I will ever return again.
