I discovered this interesting sweet treat kiosk during a lunch time walk at Raffles Xchange (Raffles Place MRT) and was quite fascinated by the pretty packaging of these nougats. I was given a sample of the cranberry nougat and simply fell in love with it.
Cranberry nougat ($7.80 per pack of 10 pieces)
Generous servings of crunchy roasted almonds and cranberries. The nutty fragrance of the almonds and sweet fruity taste of the berries make a delicious blend. The nougat itself reminded me of the white rabbit milk sweet that I used to eat when I was little. The sweet milky taste of the nougat is really addictive and makes you want to pop one after another in your mouth.
Green tea nougat ($7.80 per pack of 10 pieces)
The green tea flavour is surprisingly aromatic without any artificial tinge of flavour. Unless you’re a big green tea lover, this taste may be a tad too strong. It is not bad as a green tea sweet but I’d still prefer my nougat to have a more milky flavour.
At 78 cents per piece, I wouldn’t think this is of value as you can jolly well finish each piece in one mouthful, not three bites. It really isn’t a big piece. If there’s special discounts or promotions in future, I may consider trying the other flavours. For now, I think a Snickers bar will probably suffice.
