While we were on Huayin Street looking for a luggage shop to purchase an additional suitcase for our shopping haul, we stumbled upon a donut shop called 台灣人ㄟ甜甜圈 that specialises in Crispy Milk Donuts. We had previously tried and enjoyed the Crispy Milk Donuts from a shop called 一脆鮮奶脆皮甜甜圈, so we couldn’t resist trying the ones from this shop as well.
Wow, I just read that 台灣人ㄟ甜甜圈 has been around for more than 20 years. That’s quite an achievement. Clearly, there’s something really special about their donuts that keeps people coming back for more.
There are two locations of 台灣人ㄟ甜甜圈 in Taipei. The main store is situated on Shuangcheng Street in Taipei’s Zhongshan District. The one we visited is their branch located on Huayin Street.
Menu
Their menu consists of 12 different items, with one type of donut and the remaining items being stuffed donuts or ‘buns’.

Each donut costs NT$25 regardless of the flavour, which is very affordable.
The Crispy Milk Donut is their signature item, so they produce it in regular batches to meet demand. The stuffed donuts/buns are only available at 11.30am, 2.00pm, and 4.00pm. If you wish to try them, plan to visit during these times. They don’t restrict the number of donuts a customer can purchase, so if someone ahead of you buys out the inventory, you may have to wait until the next batch is ready.
Since we arrived near the closing time, there were only a few Crispy Milk Donuts remaining, which was perfect as it was exactly what I had wanted to get.
Crispy Milk Donut 脆皮鮮奶甜甜圈
It is recommended to consume the donut on the spot rather than as a take-away in order to fully enjoy its crispy exterior. The donut is dusted with a layer of powdered sugar and milk powder, while the inside of the donut is soft, fluffy, and chewy. In comparison to the Crispy Milk Donut from 一脆鮮奶脆皮甜甜圈, I personally preferred this one from 台灣人ㄟ甜甜圈 due to its more intense milk aroma. That milk fragrance becomes more pronounced with each bite.
I have to admit, this Crispy Milk Donut is incredibly delicious due to its intense milk scent. It sets itself apart from other major donut chains like Krispy Kreme or Dunkin Donuts by focusing on the taste of tradition, making it a truly one-of-a-kind treat. So the next time you find yourself in Taipei, don’t miss out on the opportunity to try 台灣人ㄟ甜甜圈. Whether it’s worth the wait is up to you to decide. 🙂
